Part 2 - Checking Connectivity

Not every time you will get the login screen open up after entering the IP address, in which case you need to check whether there is a proper connectivity between the router and your computer.
To check the connectivity, you can use the command prompt.

-          If you have a windows computer click on start > all programs > accessories > command prompt , you will get a black window open up

-          Type in there ping 192.168.1.1 and hit enter (refer pic below)

-          If you get a proper reply with 0% packet loss, the connectivity is good, you can reset your browser and try as mentioned in the next post ( Part 3 ).

-          If you get 25%-75% loss - check the cable, replug it on both ends and connect to a different socket on the router, then try the ping command again to check the reply. If you still get packet loss, try changing the cable.

-          If you get 100% loss, there is total loss of connectivity. Cable/router could have gone bad or may be a manual IP needs to be assigned, as explained in the below post ( Part 4 ).
